Cognitive Retraining

Cognitive Retraining is a form of brief psychotherapy designed to improve or restore neurocognitive functioning in affected areas of identified neurocognitive deficits. Therapy involves exercises to strengthen functioning and strategies to work around deficits. Targeted areas may include memory, learning, planning, organizing, sequencing, attention, problem-solving, and decision making. Cognitive Retraining is one component of Cognitive Rehabilitation, a set of techniques originally developed for treating patients with brain injuries or head trauma.
