A: The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays. Patients attend interactive, instructional, experiential, body-focused, and skills-based groups and activities.
Patients can attend the entire program, which includes a noon meal on weekdays, or they can select a more limited schedule such as attending mornings, afternoons or a single day of the week.
The IOP is appropriate for patients who are transitioning to independent living or who are wanting more structure in their daily lives. All patients in the IOP program have a psychiatric disorder and they may or may not have an additional chemical dependency disorder.
