A: You can attend one single group if you want to, or you can pick and choose which groups you would like to attend. You can attend all the groups offered by registering for the Intensive Outpatient Program.
The Arroyos offers a wide range of specific group therapies. The first type of groups are interactive in nature such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness and Process Group. The second type of groups are instructional in nature such as the Medication Management Group, the Psychiatric Relapse Prevention Group, and the Anger Management and Assertiveness Group. The third type of groups are experiential in nature and include Art Therapy and Music Therapy. The fourth type of groups and activities are body-focused in nature and involve therapeutic yoga and structured visits to an outside gym. The fifth type of groups are skills-based in nature and involve developing and improving planning, organizational, social, computer, sobriety, and daily living skills.
