A: Transitional Living Services refers to a structured secure sober environment in which the patient resides with a live-in Resident Manager, food and chef services, medication monitoring, routine drug and alcohol testing, and some transportation services to selected clinical and 12 Step settings.
Transitional Living Residences are unlicensed residences where patients live while receiving clinical services elsewhere. Transitional living residences are ideal for patients who have primary psychiatric or psychological diagnoses. Some patients may also have problems with chemical dependency problems in addition to their primary psychiatric diagnosis.
We recommend transitional living services for patients who have recently discharged from a hospital or residential treatment facility, or who are unable to live independently due to a psychiatric disorder and can benefit from the additional structure and supervision that will allow them to eventually transition to a manageable and independent lifestyle.
